Fire on the Altar

Fire on the Altar

“The Lord answered with fire from heaven upon the altar.” 1 Chronicles 21:26

King David met God in the fire. He knelt at a simple altar and called on the Lord, and the Lord answered his prayer with fire—the fire of His manifest presence.

God loves to answer our prayers with fire. All prayer is moving toward the vortex of encountering God in all the glorious splendor of His revealed presence.

In simple terms, prayer is what we do; it is our initiative to meet with God, whether we are asking for favors, singing in celebration, or crying out in distress. Fire, on the other hand, is what God does; it’s His initiative to roll up His sleeves, flex His biceps, and manifest His presence. Prayer on fire is what happens when what we do and what God does slam together. David’s prayer brought fire. What God wants you to understand today is that your prayer is also intended to bring fire.

Is there fire on the altar of your prayer life? Wait no longer

Father God, today I humble myself and kneel in Your presence. Lord, send Your fire on my prayer altar today and every day. I receive Your glorious presence today.
