China Fire

On this day, February 10, in the year of our Lord 1927, God poured out His Holy Spirit in Shanghai, China. John Sung was immediately filled with inexpressible joy. He had made it his regular habit to be up every morning at 5 AM and pray for two to three hours. He was convinced that prayer was the most important work of the believer. He not only asked, he received!

Once he received the Holy Spirit, he became known for his ministry of physical healing and would often lay hands on as many as 500-600 people at a time. When people were healed he would always emphasize repentance. He denounced and exposed sin and hypocrisy, particularly among pastors. During his messages, people would often run forward and openly confess sin before the entire congregation. This became one of the great moves of God in China. 

God rewards those who diligently seek Him. The seekers are the receivers.

Whenever God is about to move in our world, He sets His people to praying.

Do it again, Lord! For Jesus Christ’s sake, give the church in China a fresh great revival.
