Young Adult Revival

Young Adult Revival

"Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy." Acts 2:17

On this day, October 31, in the year of Lord 1904, the manifest presence of Christ was poured out on Evan Roberts and the seventeen young adults who stayed with him  to pray in Moriah Chapel in New Qua, Wales (where he would later be buried at the age of seventy-three.) He had shared his burden for revival and asked all seventeen to confess Christ as Savior. In the next two hours, every student had prayed to receive Christ. They decided to meet every night that week, and one of the prayer services lasted until 6:00 A.M. the next morning.

Evan Roberts was committed to work across denominational lines and to emphasize the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He told people to pray a simple prayer, “Send the Holy Spirit now, for Jesus Christ’s sake.” Throughout his revivals, he emphasized four points: 1) Confess all known sin, receiving forgiveness through Jesus Christ; 2) Remove anything doubtful in your life; 3) Be ready to obey the Holy Spirit instantly; and 4) Openly confess the Lord Jesus Christ. Roberts was convinced that God would give him 100,000 souls in Wales and beyond. Many would pray with great distress of soul. Others cried for mercy, weeping, singing, praising and lying flat on the ground confessing their sins. Church history shows that within six months, 100,000 were converted to Christ in Wales.

Redig this revival well today.

Father God, today start a revival among the young adults in my church. Send the Holy Spirit now, for Jesus Christ’s sake.
