The Unknown Name
The Unknown Name
“He has a name written that no one knows but himself.” Revelation 19:12
Every name of God is a promise from God because every name reveals God’s unchangeable character. He wants you to grab hold of each of his names because every name is an encounter with him.
Jesus has a special name that no one knows but himself.
So why would God reveal an unknown name? For several reasons.
To lead you in worship—even though God is self-revealing and knowable, there will always be more in Christ for you to discover.
To humble you—to remind you that he is bigger than you.
To take your breath away—to leave you full of awe and wonder.
The unknown name of Christ is your call to awe-filled worship today.
Loving Father, you are full of majesty. I praise you today for making yourself known to me by name—even by the unknown name. It humbles me to realize that there will always be an inexhaustible reservoir within yourself.
