Repent and Receive
Repent and Receive
“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38
Many Bible promises are linked to commands. In fact, there are few commands God ever gives you that do not include a promise. When we do what God tells us to do, he will do what he promises to do.
Command—repent and be baptized.
Promise—forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
If you have not yet repented and been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, God calls you to this step of obedience today.
If you have repented and have been baptized, today God wants you to receive the promise of forgiveness of your sins and…the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Do not put more emphasis on what you do for God; put the greater emphasis on what God promises to do for you. Every time God calls you into obedience, he promises you an infusion of his manifest presence. He wants you to receive the promised Holy Spirit today.
Loving Father, today I repent in the name of Jesus Christ and I receive forgiveness for my sins and the infusion of your Holy Spirit now.
