Unconventional Healing

Unconventional Healing

“When he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, ‘do you see anything?’” (Mark 8:23)

If you are a supernaturalist—that is, if you believe God still works miracles in our day-to-day world—you have probably discovered that much of God’s divine healing is unconventional.
Most people want a nice, tidy theology of healing, but Jesus had no such thing.

It did not happen often, but on this occasion, Jesus spit straight into a blind man’s eyes to trigger divine healing. Unconventional. Unexpected. And certainly unprecedented. Father God most certainly revealed to Jesus in that moment that healing would be activated through the entirely unexpected means of spitting. In answer to the question, do you see anything? the blind man responded, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking” (Mark 8:24.) The blind man’s eyesight would yet be fully restored, and it was triggered by Jesus’ spit.

What unconventional means might Father God use to trigger divine healing in your life?

Loving Father, I want your healing, no matter how unconventional the means, in Jesus name.
