Size of Your Sacrifice

Size of Your Sacrifice

“Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” Luke 21:3-4

God is not impressed with the size of your offering; he is impressed with the size of your sacrifice.

When Jesus watched the offering basket in the public square, he watched carefully. He knew that the gifts of the people represented the hearts of the people. There were those who gave large amounts, but with them he was unimpressed. When he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins, worth less than a nickel, however, it took his breath away.
In that public square on that day, the richest person was actually the poor widow. She realized something that made her the wealthiest woman in the world—she realized God was her Provider. She was rich in faith.

If you are a believer in Christ, one day you will meet that woman.

Today you can learn from that woman. The Lord is your Provider.

Loving Father, you have given me true riches. I am a wealthy person in Christ.
