Faster Fasting
Faster Fasting
Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily. Isaiah 58:8
When you fast there are several guidelines that will be helpful.
- Read extensively in the Bible. Your fast needs to be more feasting on God’s word than skipping food; you want to focus more on what God is giving you in the Bible than on what you’re physically giving up.
- Narrow your focus. As you journey through the fast God will increase your spiritual discernment; it will become easier to hear God’s voice speaking to your spirit. Ask Him to show you the primary target of your fast.
- Drink plenty of water. Hydration is critical to your health and well-being. Most people can normally fast from food for 40 days as long as they drink plenty of water. If you have medical issues, you should consult with your
doctor.
- Keep secrets with God. As much as family members and business colleagues will certainly learn that you are skipping food, you don’t want to make a public display of your fast. When you keep secrets with God, He will reward you openly.
- Pray with your eyes open. God will surprise you with more dramatic answers to specific prayers during your fast than you ever expected.
Father God, thank You for calling me to seek Your face with all my heart during this season of fasting. I enter this fast with wide-eyed anticipation.
Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world countries and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for San Marino and Nebraska.
This daily Christ-encountering, fire-starter is not intended to replace your daily Bible reading and prayer time, but rather to motivate you to spend extended time in His presence.
