Raised From the Dead
Raised From the Dead
By Fred Hartley, III
The Holy Spirit raises from the dead our awareness of God’s presence. You can be aware and walk away. Adam did this in the garden when he knew God was there, and he hid.
The Holy Spirit gives us a desire for God’s presence. We, by nature, are enemies of God. There is even something within us as Christians that wants to keep God at arms length because it’s easier and more comfortable. Going after the presence of God is the exact opposite of the fall that took place in the Garden of Eden.
The Holy Spirit puts in us a desire to receive God’s presence. It’s when we learn to receive God’s presence that everything changes, because we can’t give what we have not received. Everything the disciples had to give was found in Jesus’ presence. They had nothing outside of that. Their ability to preach, heal, raise the dead, cleanse, drive out demons—all of this is based on receiving from Christ. They received discernment. They received empowerment. They received wisdom and revelation. Out of that, they then could freely give what they received, and it’s no different for us today. Everything of lasting significance comes from our desire to give what we have received from God.
Pray now: Father God, today, through the work of the Holy Spirit, I am asking you to put in me a deeper awareness of your presence and a deeper desire to receive your presence. Awaken me on every level—spirit, soul, and body—to receive everything you have for me.
Pray for Breakthrough in the Nations!
Each day during this fast we are asking you to join us in asking for the remaining nations where the College of Prayer is not yet serving churches.
Pray today for Estonia.
