Stop Waiting, Start Receiving
Stop Waiting, Start Receiving
By Rebecca Holcomb
“They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob.” Psalm 24:5-6
Many of us who have grown up in Christian homes have been taught mainly about what we are to give to God. We are to give him our love, service, sacrifice, and lives. However, scripture talks more about receiving from God. Let’s take a look at a few things he tells us to receive from him:
There are so many more blessings that God is waiting for us to ask for so that He can lavish his love on us through all the gifts he has for us to receive. Everything we have in Christ, we receive by faith, and even that is a gift to receive. God is a generous, giving Father who loves to lavish on us all that we need to receive from him.
Pray now: Jesus, I repent for trying to out-give God through religious service or sacrifice. I receive from you now all that you want me to have. I stand before your throne with open hands ready to receive from my loving father all that you desire to give me.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you...The LORD will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:1-3
