Keep it Real
Keep it Real
Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief! Mark 9:24
That short prayer is a good one for all of us to use periodically. “Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief!” Jesus must have liked it—look at how quickly He responded!
“Lord, I believe.” This is always a good place to start. God not only wants you to trust Him, He wants you to express your trust in Him. No matter how small your faith is, the more you use it, the more it will grow.
“Help my unbelief!” God wants you to be honest and to keep it real whenever you pray. You don’t need to pretend to have perfect faith when in fact it may be flawed and even riddled with unbelief.
The false faith teachers of the prosperity gospel teach a perverted faith that desperately tries to deny the existence of any unbelief. It is little more than mind control. It is not biblical.
True biblical faith is real. Honest. Straightforward. True faith does not try to play mind games. It is even willing to admit to unbelief.
When Jesus heard this man’s heart cry, He immediately swung into action and miraculously delivered the man’s son from an evil spirit. Jesus healed the boy on the spot.
Let’s learn an important lesson about faith—real faith does not strive for perfection. It is not afraid of a little unbelief.
When you pray, rule number one—keep it real.
Father God, You know my heart better than I do. You know I trust You and You know my faith is imperfect. Thank You that I don’t need perfect prayers or perfect faith in order to come to You today.
Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world countries and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Tuvalu and Illinois.
