Upper Room Foot-washing

Upper Room Foot-washing

Jesus, knowing ...that he had come from God and was going back to God... John 13:3

On the Christian calendar, today is what is known as Maunday Thursday, or the Thursday prior to the crucifixion when Jesus gave the mandate to love one another. This was a major upper room encounter for Jesus and his disciples.

Every upper room encounter with Christ affirms our true identity. There is no place on earth where we discover who we are more than in the upper room. Once Christ shows us our true identity, we are willing to stoop to anything to serve others.

Christ sets the ultimate example when, knowing He had come from the Father and was about to return to the Father, He laid aside His outer garments, took up a towel, tied it around His waist, poured water into a basin, and washed the disciples feet. All this took place in an upper room.

After you have your upper room encounter with Christ today, you can turn and serve those around you in Jesus name.

Lord Jesus, I embrace my identity in You. I am your servant. Use me to significantly love others today.

Please PRAY!
We are asking God for the remaining world countries and U.S.A. states to receive the training of the College of Prayer. Pray with us today for Tonga and Vermont.
