2022 Breakthrough Fast: Day 11
The Promise of Healing - Part 1
“But you have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have anointed me with the finest oil.”
Psalm 92:10
Psalm 92:10
One of the blessings we have when praying is being able to declare or confess the promises that God has given us in His Word, having the certainty that He likes to honor them.
This principle is well illustrated in the prayer life of Nehemiah and other servants of God who reminded the Lord of the covenant that He had given them. That is why I decided to practice this Kingdom principle in my own prayer life. There have been several experiences that I could share with you, but let me share one with you.
Psalm 92:10 says, “But you have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have anointed me with the finest oil.” A few years ago my ministry colleague, Don Young, and I had committed to hosting the first module of the College of Prayer in El Paso, Texas and at the same time crossing the border and hosting the same module in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.
A week before the trip I was suffering from bronchitis with a high fever every day and great discomfort in my body. I decided to call Don to let him know I was ill but suggested we not cancel the trip. Instead of canceling the trip, I requested he help me pray for the Lord to heal me so that I could drive my car for the 12 hour trip from New York to Atlanta.
The drive was challenging with fevers coming in and out! Yet in God’s grace, He kept bringing me back to Psalm 92:10 and every time that verse came to mind, I began to confess it in prayer to the Lord. He would immediately renew my strength and I could literally feel the fever dissipate. By his strength and healing, I was able to make it to Atlanta safely.
The next day Don and I were able to take the plane to El Paso, Texas to minister there for three days and then cross the border and continue teaching for three more days in Ciudad Juárez. I will never forget the new strength and the fresh anointing that I received in those days. Friends, I encourage you today to confess that promise for your life and enjoy the Lord's response.
Father, thank you for every promise that you have given us in your Word! Help us to believe them and confess them in prayer so that your Name may be glorified.
Grace to you,
Luis Calderon
